Fifth Avenue

Today started off rainy but warm. We were hoping to go to the Empire State Building in the early morning but the clouds were too low so we decided to just walk along Fifth Avenue.

Our walked started at 9:15am. It took us about 15 minutes to walk from our Hotel to Fifth Avenue ...........

Here I am on fifth Avenue

Saks Fifth Avenue

We didn't go in since we had so much we wanted to do like.................................... Time Square, Rockefeller Square, Apple Store ....................

We First came to Time Square
View of Time Square from 7th  Avenue (went a little off track)

Further down the road

A closer look at the New Year's Eve Ball

The next place we came to was Rockefeller Square (off Fifth Avenue)

They are putting the ice on for the rink

View from the other side looking toward Fifth Avenue

Chris told Gary about the funky apple store so we continue to walk on Fifth Avenue to Central Park..............

On the way we passed this Sculpture

So We finally found the apple Store........................

As you can see it is all glass

and the store is in the basement

After we visited the Apple Store it was lunch time and we were exhausted so we headed back to our Hotel which was about 5 mins away.

On the way back we passed these horse drawn carriages just outside Central Park

After a nice long rest and food in our stomach we ventured out in the evening. It cleared off and walked to the Empire State Building..........................

This is in the entrance

After waiting in line for 30 mins (had to go through another security check) getting the elevator to the 80th floor and walking 6 flights (could have used elevator but a 15 min wait) we finally got to the top of the Empire State Building just after the sun had set. These are the photos I took.........

Had a great day but my feet and legs really really ache.

We have a few hours tomorrow before we leave but hope to see more of Central Park and The Modern Art Museum.

Take Care
Marg
